Whew, and putting things in perspective

I'm happy to report that I survived the weekend. I alternate with two of my co-workers on Saturdays and each of us is also required to work one holiday, either Memorial Day, July 4th or Labor Day.

This year, it worked out that this past Saturday was mine and my holiday was today, so no long weekend to speak of.

But I have nothing to complain about. This weekend is about so much more than my work schedule.

It's to remember the sacrifices that millions of people I've never met have made to allow me to live the wonderful life I have.
