Another honor for my alma mater

Well, sort of. The University of Wisconsin-Madison made it on to the list of the best "Party Schools For Budding Journalists."

This post got me thinking about a conversation I had with a friend Friday night about a well-known tradition at the university that is heard at commencement ceremonies and at the conclusion of the half time show for home football games at Camp Randall, the singing of Varsity.

I sure do miss home.

I think it's different for me than for other SLISers because Madison is my hometown and my family lives there.

It's corny I know, but even though I live in Columbus, Madison will always be my home.

I miss my hometown sometimes too. Hang in there.

Just remember why you are in Columbus. You are working in a news library, how cool is that?!? I think if you are ever feeling homesick, you should plan a weekend visit. I am sure your parents would love to see you. Then you can get your Madison fix. Plus, one day, I am sure a librarian position that will be perfect for you will open up and you can move home!

You're absolutely right. News librarianship is where my heart has and always will be and I truly know how lucky I am that I found a position when the number of jobs available is practically nil.

What would be really cool is if you found a job in this area too. :)

I'll be in Madison for Xmas. If you're still living there, let's plan on going out to dinner some evening and catching up.
