Getting acquainted with podcasting

I've been reading a bit about podcasting, but became very interested in it recently when my good friend j decided to look into it because of continuing problems with her wrists that make it painful to type.

Then I came across this interesting tidbit in one of my feeds: the Denver Post recently began offering podcasts of the news on their site and in the first four weeks, there have been 2,000 downloads.

Last night, I decided to take a stab at my own podcast and downloaded Audacity to get me started. I recorded myself ranting about various topics du jour and while the playback was a little scratchy, I'm hooked. So cool!

I wonder though ... does this mean I am now an official tech geek?
